Story appeared in Metro section, Page B2AUBURN - Medical marijuana activist Steven Wynn Kubby says he is looking forward to a "normal life" after his early release from the Placer County jail.
Kubby, 59, served 22 days of a 60-day sentence for violating probation. He was granted an early release from jail April 5 because of a federal mandate that prohibits overcrowding.
It was his second stay. He served 40 days of a 120-day term before being released March 6 because of good behavior and overcrowding.
After his early release March 6, Kubby was ordered by Placer Superior Court Judge Robert McElhany to serve 60 days for violating probation by moving to Canada.
